Earned Authority

Published work under your own name, in outlets that exercise editorial judgment, on subjects you have genuine standing to discuss. Placement is earned rather than purchased, which is slower, and the only version that holds its value.

Authority in a search index and in a language model is largely a function of what you have published and where. Not what you have said about yourself on your own site, because that is a claim, but what an independent outlet decided was worth publishing under your name.

This distinction is doing a lot of work. A paid placement and an earned one can look similar to a casual reader and are treated very differently by the systems that matter. Sponsored content is marked, discounted, and frequently excluded from the signals that establish authority. An editor's decision to publish is the signal, and it cannot be bought without becoming the other thing.

Which imposes a real constraint on this service: you have to actually know something. We do not write generic commentary and attach a name to it. The work begins by establishing what you have genuine standing to say, from operating experience, technical knowledge, or a vantage point others do not have, and then developing that into material an editor will accept on merit.

You approve every word before it is submitted anywhere. Nothing is published under your name that you have not read and signed off. This is not a courtesy; it is the only defensible arrangement, because the byline is yours permanently.

When it applies

The situations this is the right tool for.

  • You have operating knowledge others lack

Decades in an industry, a technical specialism, or a vantage point that is genuinely uncommon.

  • Your search presence is thin

Little exists about you, so anything that does appear dominates. Substantive published work is the durable correction.

  • You want to be quotable in your field

Journalists source from people who have already published. The record is the credential.

  • A negative item needs to be outweighed

Earned publication is the material that does the displacing in the reactive practice, which is where the two practices meet.

  • You are building toward a transaction

A documented public record of expertise is read by acquirers, investors, and boards as a form of diligence evidence.

  • AI systems have little to work with

Published, attributed work is among the highest-quality source material a model can draw on about a person.

Process

How the work runs.

  1. Standing assessment

What you genuinely know that an editor would find worth publishing. An honest conversation, and occasionally a short one.

  2. Subject development

Turning expertise into specific arguments with a point of view. Generic commentary is declined by editors and ignored by readers.

  3. Drafting, then your revision

We draft; you correct the substance. The argument has to be yours or the byline is misleading.

  4. Your explicit approval

Nothing is submitted anywhere until you have signed off on the final text. No exceptions, including for deadlines.

  5. Placement on merit

Pitched to outlets where the subject fits and the standards are real. Declines are reported to you as they happen.

  6. Attribution and indexing check

Confirming published work is correctly attributed to you as an entity, indexed, and connected to the rest of your record.

Before you engage

Where the limits are.

We cannot guarantee placement in a named publication. Editors decline work, including good work, for reasons that have nothing to do with quality. Anyone guaranteeing a specific masthead is either buying the space or misrepresenting the relationship.

We also cannot manufacture expertise. Where a client has no genuine standing on a subject, the honest options are to develop it or to choose a different subject, and we will say which.

This is slow. A piece takes weeks to develop, and an editorial decision takes as long as it takes. It is unsuitable as a crisis response and we will not sell it as one.

Questions we are asked

Is this sponsored content?
No, and the difference is the entire point. Sponsored placements are marked, discounted by search systems, and often excluded from authority signals. This is editorial acceptance, which is slower, less certain, and the only version that carries weight.
Do you write it for me?
We draft from your knowledge and your positions, then you revise until the argument is genuinely yours. You approve the final text before submission. Work published under your name should be defensible by you in a room.
Which publications?
It depends entirely on your field and standing, because the right outlet for a specialist industry argument is not the largest one. The firm has placed work in Forbes among others; we will be specific about realistic targets for your subject rather than name-dropping mastheads.
How much gets published?
Fewer pieces than are drafted, always. We report declines rather than quietly reallocating the work to a lower-standard outlet, which is the common practice and the reason so much placed content carries no weight.
What does this cost?
The fee is stated in a written proposal before any work begins, scoped to what the assessment finds. How that is arrived at is set out in full on the How We Work page.
